Ferrite technology from Kabelwerk Eupen

This technology is based on a high-quality ferrite-based powder. A special blend has been developed, composed of a polymer material mixed with a significant amount (up to 90%) of ferrite powder. The mixture is applied to copper conductors by extrusion and is called EMC/COM.

The ferrite powder is electrically non-conductive; it has very interesting magnetic properties. Because ferrite is a ferromagnetic material, it is constantly remagnetized in an alternating magnetic field. The magnetization follows a hysteresis loop and with each cycle energy is withdrawn from the electromagnetic field, which is released again as heat. This process increases steadily with frequency. The ferrite layer on a conductor causes higher frequencies to be heavily attenuated because most of their energy is absorbed in the ferrite powder. This applies both to high-frequency interference which travels along the conductor and which must not disturb the environment, and to interference which occurs in the environment and which should not affect the signal on the cable.

Cable sleeve:

The cable is covered with black cable sleeve. It gives the cable a nicer look, cable protection and low microphonic effects.

Cable ferrules:

The wire ends are terminated with WBT 24 K coated OFC ferrules. This makes the best contact quality possible.
